Police Authority Says Thank You
West Mercia Police Authority says a big thank you to all those who have made their views known about policing in their area.
Sheila Blagg, Chair of the Authority, said: "I thank everyone who has taken part or intends to take part in our consultation on policing West Mercia in 2010 and beyond. It's really important that people have the opportunity to have their say and that we listen to their views. We are their voice in the delivery of effective and efficient policing across our region.
Thank you to all those who took the time to respond to our regular user surveys and to the 7,000 residents who have so far responded to our quarterly crime and safety survey. Thank you to those who have attended the many PACT and Policing Matters public meetings held across the force area, attended surgeries or completed postcards. Their views have helped informed our proposed priorities for 2010.
Thank you also to those who have responded to the consultation on our proposals. We have posted 3,500 leaflets to partners, business and community representatives, and provided information including an online questionnaire on our website. A particular thank you must go to all those that braved the elements and attended the consultation evenings held across the force area in January.
We will consider the results of our consultation on our proposals on 2 February in order to further develop our Policing Plan for 2010 prior to the Police Authority meeting on 16 February when the Plan will be adopted."
Readers have until Friday 29 January 2010 to make their views know. The provisional proposals are set out in a consultation document which can be obtained from the Police Authority website www.westmerciapoliceauthority.gov.uk or by ringing the Authority on 01743 264690.
