Parish & Town Councils Views Sought
Local West Mercia Police Authority member, Kuldip Sahota, is writing to all parish and town councils in the Telford & Wrekin area seeking their views on policing in the area.
Cllr Kuldip Sahota

Kuldip Sahota explained: “As a member of West Mercia Police Authority I have a responsibility to take account of the views of communities within West Mercia in our decision making. As Chair of the Telford & Wrekin Policing Board I am particularly keen to ensure that the views of the communities within this area are taken into consideration. Given the economic climate there are likely to be some difficult decisions ahead for the Police Authority. In preparation for discussions regarding priorities for policing and budget considerations I am writing to all parish and town councils in the Telford & Wrekin area asking for their comments regarding which aspects of policing are most valued. In particular, the value of Local Policing Teams and PACT engagement processes; how well they are working and valued or otherwise.”
West Mercia Police Authority is a body of people drawn from across Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire, which sets local policing priorities and oversees police performance and the efficient use of the £200m per annum police budget. END
