Strategic Alliance - New Chief Officer Arrangements go live
Tuesday 1 November represented a significant milestone in the Strategic Alliance being formed between Warwickshire and West Mercia - New chief officer arrangements came into effect which will determine how policing services will be delivered across both forces.
The Chief and Deputy Chief Constables, responsible for their respective geographical policing areas, will commission policing services from the wider joint chief officer team who will serve both forces. Gold Command cover for major operational incidents in Warwickshire or West Mercia will also be provided by the joint chief officer team, while:
· Specific incidents will be the responsibility of the Chief Constable for that area
· Employees will remain accountable to their current force but may be tasked through their line managers by the wider joint chief officer team
· Officers and staff will not be posted/move across force boundaries except for mutual aid, existing joint initiatives and Strategic Alliance programme team work
