In North Worcestershire year end figures show increases in public confidence in the local police and the satisfaction of victims and witnesses with the service. Public meetings are being held this summer giving people the change to find out more about policing and quiz North Worcestershire's Territorial Police Commander and Police Authority members.

In North Worcestershire public confidence in the local police has increased to 58% compared to 48% two years ago, according to year- end figures for 2010/11, whilst the satisfaction of victims and witnesses with the service has increased to 87% from 85% during the same period.

In addition to PACT meetings the public have the chance to find out more about policing, have their say and quiz the Territorial Policing Unit Commander and local Police Authority members at a series of public “Policing Matters” meetings being held across North Worcestershire this summer.

The first public meetings will be held at Bromsgrove High School on Wednesday 8 June 2011, at 7 pm.

“Policing Matters” public meetings will also be held on Wednesday 17 August 2011 at 7pm in Redditch Town Hall and on Wednesday 24 August at 7pm in Kidderminster Library.

The North Worcestershire Policing Board, which is made up of West Mercia Police Authority Members Col. Tony Ward OBE, Cllr Sheila Blagg and Cllr Brandon Clayton, meets regularly with the TPU Commander to monitor delivery of the West Mercia Policing Plan in North Worcestershire

Col. Tony Ward OBE

Last year the Police Authority set West Mercia Police the challenge of Making a Difference, and improving user satisfaction and public confidence. They have certainly done that in North Worcestershire. I congratulate the Territorial Police Unit (TPU) Commander, Superintendent Adrian Pass, and his team of officers, staff, and volunteers. These figures show that the Police are listening and do respond to local people’s needs and concerns

Col. Tony Ward OBE, Chair of North Worcestershire Policing Board
